WEIRTON - A 32-year-old Weirton resident is being held in the Northern Regional Jail on two counts of domestic abuse, hostage taking, child abuse and resisting arrest, authorities report.
Andrew Alexander Drosdow, 3716 Marlamont Way, was arrested Sunday after city police responded to calls of a domestic disturbance.
Upon arriving at the scene, Hancock County Prosecutor Jim Davis said officers "observed a female who was obviously injured, bleeding."

Inside the residence they encountered Drosdow, who Davis said appeared to have been drinking and was dangling an infant over his head in an attempt to avoid arrest, thereby putting the child at risk.
"He (allegedly) picked a 4-month-old baby up and held the baby over his head," Davis said. "They were able to get hold of him and get the baby safely away."
Drosdow allegedly spit blood and mucous onto the responding officers, he said.
Additionally, Davis said a second woman at the scene appeared to have been struck in the face.
Drosdow is being held in Northern Regional Jail on $216,500 bond.
