TAYLOR, Floyd E., 84, of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
He was born December 4, 1927, in Bridgeport, OH, son of the late Edward and Rose (St. John) Taylor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Lou (Fetty) Taylor; four sons, Edward L., Roger, Frank Taylor, and an infant James Taylor; a brother, John W. "Jack" Taylor; two sisters, Nancy Carpenter and Martha Taylor; a half-brother, Robert Hodgkiss; a granddaughter, Billie Jo "Beep" Cook; and a grandson, Jeff Plant.
Floyd served his country in the U.S. Navy during, World War II. He was a retired construction worker out of Local 809 in Steubenville and Methodist by faith. He enjoyed going to yard sales and auctions, reading, and talking with friends.
Surviving are four daughters, Marsha K. (Danny) Shute of Jewett, OH, Phyllis Jean Fields of Mingo, Patricia (Kenny) Herron of Brilliant and Elizabeth (Bill) Cook of Brilliant; a half-brother, William Taylor of Lansing, MI; his companion, Pearl Stull of Scio, OH; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where his funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bob Carson officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
