To the editor:
The voters spoke again about the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School, and I guess we don't need to update the equipment and facilities at this school so these kids can get a head start on seeking employment after they finish school.
I attended this school 30 years ago, and the time I spent there has helped me my entire working life. Not all the young adults who attend high school are going to college. So they choose attend this school and learn a trade that will help them get a head start on seeking employment after school. With that being said, they need the latest technology to give them skills that employers seek.
As a parent who has a young man attending this school something needs to be done to help this school get the funding it deserves.
I think the parents of the young adults attending this school need to come together and start something that can help this school do what it was built to do. This school is a good thing for Jefferson County - let's not turn our backs on these young adults who are trying to do the right thing.
