STEUBENVILLE - The Catholic Central girls basketball team opened the season Saturday night with a 42-24 victory over visiting Tusky Central.
The Crusaders, who were led by Miranda Parkinson's 12 points, outscored the visitors 13-2 in the second quarter to break open a four-point lead at the end of eight minutes for a 23-8 advantage at halftime.
Micca Mirabella added eight points and Tori Knight six.
Central hosts Bridgeport Monday and visits Toronto Thursday.
