WEIRTON - The Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary met Nov. 20 in the Starvaggi Boardroom, with President Sondra Weigel calling the meeting to order and presiding over the business session.
The 21 attending members recited the auxiliary prayer and Pledge of Allegiance. Recording Secretary Elda Weekley read the October meeting minutes. Corresponding Secretary Mary Lou Batcho reported on thank-you note received. Treasurer Paul Billick gave the financial report.
Human Resources Administrative Liaison Barbara Coalter reported on mandatory in-service for all volunteers. She also reported Weirton Medical Center will enter a float in the Weirton Christmas Parade.
Auxiliary service chairmen gave the following reports: John Patton, coffee cart; Barbara Visnic, gift cart; Jeannie Duffy, gift shop schedule; Barbara Cameron, information/surgical desk; Paula Billick, payroll deductions; Elda Weekley, publicity; Peg Barber, mail, reported Becky Stout, a new volunteer, is in training; Beth DiGregorio, surgical desk escorts; and Margaret Patton, volunteens.
Joan Hawrot, hospitality, reported the Christmas Dinner would be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 5 in the medical center cafeteria. Members should make a reservation by Wednesday by calling (304) 723-4334.
Vivian Weigel, gift shop committee reported a 25 percent off sale of Christmas items only would be held Dec. 21-31. Holiday sweatshirts are now available in the gift shop. The gift shop will close at noon on Christmas Eve, and 12:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve. The shop will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day.
Rose Ulizio, Mrs. Bubble's program, reported the group visited Broadview and Weirton Heights schools with their hand-washing program. Alma Wansack, Remembrance fund; Dolores Krinock, membership; and Katy Rosohac, record of hours, also gave reports.
President Sondra Weigel announced orientation was held Nov. 15 with two new volunteers, Shirley Roberts and Dorothea Stakias. Volunteer applications are available in the gift shop.
