WEIRTON - Book Review Luncheon Chair Sandra Robbins announced the Literary Department of the Weirton Woman's Club, a General Federation of Women's Clubs member club, presented a $1,500 check to Rik Rekowski, Mary H. Weir Public Library executive director.
The donation was the proceeds of the annual book review luncheon held in May at Williams Country Club. All proceeds are given to the library for the purchase of materials.
At May's event, Nancy Ellen O'Leary reviewed "Ball of Fire: The Tumultuous Life and Comic Art of Lucille Ball" by Stefan Kanfer. Wright discussed Ball's early life and her relationships, and the love of her life, Desi Arnez.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the drawing for the Nook Color Tablet. Book door prizes were awarded and a cash drawing was held. A used book sale was also held. Robbins reported that this year's book review was one of the best and was pleased with the amount of money that literary was able to donate to the library.
