WELLSBURG - About 1,600 customers outside Wellsburg and in the Cross Creek area were without power beginning around 2:30 a.m. today.
Allen Staggers, Mon Power spokesperson, said crews determined a couple fuses blew on transformers in the Cross Creek substation.
Power was expected to be restored around noon.
The outage caused the cancellation of classes in Brooke County schools.
