WEIRTON - The Myrtle McHendry Class of the Cove Presbyterian Church met for their annual Christmas covered-dish dinner Dec. 4 in the fellowship hall.

President Betty Virtue welcomed members and guests. Barbara Losey led devotions and prayer and read several Christmas poems. The Rev. Ed Rudiger, church pastor, led grace. Bonnie Nichols introduced the program, "Fun With Music," presented by Janice Torrance and the Cove chancel choir. Virtue led a short business meeting. Mission Co-Chair Penny Mourat reported 10 Christmas stockings were filled with toys and will be taken to the Salvation Army.

Mourat led a prayer of dedication for the children who will receive the stockings and for the stockings and their message of love. Barbara Losey presented the slate of officers for the year, including President Betty Virtue, Vice President Bonnie Nichols, Secretary Esten Jezerski and Treasurer Rhadine Ross. Sunday School Teacher Eleanor Cline prayed for the newly elected officers and all those class members faithfully supporting its mission. Gifts were presented to those who support and work with the class. Virtue thanked hostesses Eloise Evans and Sharon Johnson and closed the meeting with prayer.
