The "Photographers of the Year" are chosen based on the number of wins and points awarded by the judges in monthly competitions over a 10-month period.

Club members compete in three categories of topic of the month, open and special effects.

Whiting also recognized other top award winners for this season including for the annual competition: Melissa Bendle, "Best of Show" winner in prints; and Bovalina, "Best of Show" in slides. The winners from the mall show were Don Roberts, "People's Choice Award"; and Dave Rees, "Members' Choice Award."

Concluding the recognition of the photographer awards, the club was entertained with a digital slide show of pictures of eagles. Club member Andy Tindor took the pictures during all seasons, including winter, of eagles located by the backwaters near Mountaineer Racetrack in Chester and at Tappan Lake, Ohio.

Barb Momyer compiled the pictures for the slide show, and her husband, Barry Momyer, chose the music to accompany the pictures - "The Last of the Mohicans" theme.
