CADIZ - Harrison County commissioners were busy this week meeting with department heads as they prepare the 2013 budget.
During the regular session Wednesday, the board approved a series of year-end adjustments and transfers to balance the books.
Treasurer Vicki Sefsick announced a credit card machine was installed and in use in her office and County Clerk of Courts Lesley Milliken. These are the first two county offices to install the new machines and be credit/debit capable.
"This is a new service to the public," said Sefsick. "It is a convenience for payments both in person and over the phone."
New machines also will be installed in the title office and license bureau, it was noted.
In other business, the commissioners:
Renewed an agreement with MFCD for continuing software support and related services.
Approved an agreement between the county and Chesapeake Exploration for 1.4 miles of county Road 44 and 1.2 miles of county Road 17 for ingress and egress from the Halter well site.
Approved an agreement contracted with Global Geophysical Services of Martins Ferry for a survey of 17.48 acres at a rate of $10 per acre.
