Assault: Woman hit in the back of the head with a golf club in the 800 block of Market Street, Saturday.

Cited: Lynn M. Wilson, 43, 702 township Road 471, Hammondsville, red light; Sean B. Sinclair, 37, 429 Linduff Ave., shortcutting traffic control device; Ronald L. Sechel, 52, Apartment 207, 815 N. Sixth St., intoxication; and Zachary R. Moore, 25, 730 N. Seventh St., intoxication.

Break-in: City Rescue Mission Store, 644 Market St., broken into between Friday and Saturday. An inventory is pending to determine if anything was taken.

Arrested: Mary Bischak, 43, Hopedale, fugitive from justice warrant out of Hancock County, Sunday.

Theft: Chain saw and digital camera taken from vehicle in the 800 block of Longford Drive, Sunday.

Theft: Door to vacant rental house in the 100 block of Welday Avenue kicked open and copper piping taken from inside, Sunday.

Shots fire: Report of shots fired around 10 p.m. Sunday in the alley between Maxwell and Lawson avenues. Several residents reported hearing the shots but no evidence of shots fired was discovered by officers.

Arrested: Jeffery Hawkins, 38, 1515 Ridge Ave., failure to appear warrant out of municipal court and possession of controlled substance, Saturday.

Jefferson County sheriff

Arrested: Timothy J. Henwood, 53, 133 Reichart Ave., Wintersville, failure to appear warrant and probation violation out of Harrison County, Sunday.

Arrested: Christopher C. Davis, 25, 547 Woodvue Lane, Wintersville, obstructing official business, failure to appear in court warrant, driving with suspended license and marked lanes, Saturday.

Break-in: House on Smithfield Township Road 130, Adena, broken into and two rifles taken, Friday.

Attempted theft: House entered on township Road 228, Richmond, and tools taken from inside found outside in yard, Sunday.
