WASHINGTON, Pa. - Washington County District Attorney Eugene A. Vittone announced Dec. 19 the Washington County District Attorney's Drug Task Force, in cooperation with members of the Washington County Sheriff's office, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Washington County Adult Probation Office and the City of Washington Police Department, executed arrests on those suspected of dealing in drugs and other controlled substances.
A total of 52 arrest warrants were signed for suspected drug dealers in the county. These defendants represent many different communities throughout the county with a significant concentration in the City of Washington.
"This arrest sweep represents a major milestone in the Drug Task Force's year-long effort to investigate and combat the trafficking of drugs in the county," said Vittone. "I am particularly happy to see the combined efforts of officers from many different jurisdictions working within the task force, the Washington County Sheriff's office, Washington County Adult Probation and the Pennsylvania State Police, working together with the goal of arresting drug dealers in our communities."
Law enforcement officials arrested 22 individuals. Those suspects arraigned were placed on $10,000 straight cash bond.
The preliminary hearings are scheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 28 in Washington before District Judge Robert Redlinger.
