Greater Weirton Senior Center to hold a dance today

WEIRTON - The Greater Weirton Senior Center will hold a dance today.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., and The Sands of Time will perform from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The cost is $5.

The center will host quarter bingo from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Those attending are invited to bring their own snacks.

Country Friends to hold dance

COLLIERS - Country Friends will host The Sands of Time Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Lodge Road.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance begins at 7 p.m.

Country Friends holds covered-dish dinners and open mic nights every Monday and Friday. The doors open at 4 p.m., the meal begins at 5 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m.

Country Friends Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christianity, friendship and brotherly love through music. All profits go to charity.

Newcomers to hold meeting

ELM GROVE - The Wheeling Newcomers Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 10 at Undo's.

The program will feature a presentation by a Wheeling Hospital breast cancer specialist. Lunch is $15 per person, and a reservation should be made by Sunday by calling Marilyn Rabinowitz at (304) 243-0164.

Membership is open to all women new to the area.

Knights to hold dinner

WEIRTON - The Weirton Knights of Columbus will hold a spaghetti dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 13 at the knight's hall gallery.

The meal includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and coffee. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under and free for children 6 and under.

Take-out is available; bring containers.

WEIRTON - The Weirton Steel Basic Oxygen Plant Employee's Breakfast is held at 9 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Three Springs Drive Eat'n Park.

All are welcome.

Blood drive scheduled

BURGETTSTOWN, Pa. - A blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church's McCashin Hall located at 1109 Main St.
