NRA basic pistol safety
course scheduled Jan. 18-19
WEIRTON - A National Rifle Association basic pistol safety course will be held Jan. 18-19 at the Hancock County Sportsman's Association
The course will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Jan. 18 and beginning at 9 a.m. Jan. 19.
A NRA firearms instructor will present the course, which includes lectures and live-firing. The nationally accredited course is approved by several states as a requirement prior to applying for a concealed carry permit. Class size will be limited; pre-registration is required. Baseball sign ups

FOLLANSBEE - Follansbee Baseball Association signups will be held throughout the month at the city council chambers.
Those signing their child up are asked to bring a photocopy of their child's birth certificate, regardless of whether they have previously submitted one.
Age divisions will be determined by the child's age as of April 30. They include T-ball, 4 to 6; Pinto, 7 to 8; Mustang, 9 to 10; Bronco, 11 to 12; and Pony, 13 to 14.
Registration cost is $40 for T-ball and Pinto; $60 for Mustang and Bronco; and $40 for Pony for the 2013 season only, to celebrate the re-opening of the Pony Division. Registration fees include baseball pants, hat and jersey.
Registration dates include the following:
5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Jan. 19;
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 26;
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 2;
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 9; and
5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 13.

Christian concert
scheduled
ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio - Emmanuel Baptist Church will hold a Christian Music Concert from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the church located at 50470 E. National Road.
Sam Lucarelli, guitarist and vocalist, accompanied by the Rev. Gary Eller on drums; duet Reggie and Shirley Roth; and the Emmanuel Singers will perform.
