Mary Elizabeth Barnabei

BARNABEI, Mary Elizabeth, 87, of Weirton, died Sunday morning, at the Weirton Medical Center.

Born on March 1, 1925, in Dennison, OH, Mary was a daughter of the late Domenico and Anna Frances DiBernardi Barnabei. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Chester and Anthony Barnabei.

Mary worked as a switchboard operator for Starvaggi Industries for 39 years. She was an avid bowler, who bowled locally as well as in many tournaments throughout the United States.

Mary was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by her special friend of 55 years, George Veselica, of Weirton; a brother, Fred Barnabei of Weirton; and three sisters, Emma Barnabei and Lillian Ruszkowski and Anna Pate all of Weirton, WV. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, who were like her children.

Family and friends are invited to attend a gathering at 4 p.m. until time of Memorial Mass which will be celebrated 5 p.m. Thursday, at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton.

Rev. Larry Dorsch will preside.

Interment will be in the Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens.
