WINTERSVILLE, Ohio - The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club has listed the winners of the November competition.
The print winners for the topic of the month "Things That Fly" were Claudia Norris, first place; Kathy Sivert, second place; and Pat Grimm, third place. In the open category, the winners included Dave Rees, first place; Andy Tindor, second place; and Angela McClain and Grimm, third place. The special effects winners were Barb Momyer, first place; Melissa Bendle and Stephen Mihopulos, second place; and McClain, third place.
The slide winners for the topic "Things That Fly" were Jack Hatala, first place; Vince Trupiano, second place; and Steve Whiting, third place The open category winners included Hatala, first place; Trupiano, second place; and Whiting, third place. The special effects winners were Hatala, first place; and Trupiano, second place; and Claudia Norris, third place.
The workshop in November was presented by four camera club members. Stephen Mihopulos explained about the F-stop adjustment and shutter speed. He gave a power point program showing various pictures with the manual adjustments he had made with the camera. Steve Whiting spoke about manual adjustments for the camera and using the ISO and showed examples of the rule of thirds for picture-taking. Deb Snider explained about adjusting the white balance for photographing pictures. Competition Chair Barb Momyer explained about the three criteria that the club uses for judging competitions: impact, composition and technique.
