WELLSBURG - For lunch or dinner, Antonio's Pizzeria offers a variety of pizzas, sandwiches and sides.
Located at 1446 Charles St. near Wellsburg Primary School, the take-out pizza business is owned by Anthony Taibi of Follansbee and Matt McGowan of Wellsburg.
The two met in 2009 while working for HealthWays Inc., and each had considered starting their own business. A pizzeria seemed like a good choice because of the Ohio Valley's love for the dish and Taibi had worked for 10 years at an area pizza shop, they said.

To accommodate a lunchtime clientele, the shop is open from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
They deliver to all of Brooke County and downtown Weirton and can accept credit cards upon delivery.
Taibi said pizza and other dishes, including spaghetti and meatball dinners, made from authentic Sicilian and Italian recipes and fresh ingredients, also set their place apart.
For their meatball and sausage heels and ham and cheese, Italian and turkey hoagies, the pair use homemade buns made by Taibi's wife, Holly, while the meatballs are prepared by his grandmother, Hazel.
Antonio's Pizzeria offers pizza pies or squares, small or large, and several specialty pizzas, including buffalo, barbecue and Italian chicken, Italian supreme and white.
"Our biggest seller, besides pizza, are our large calzones," Taibi said.
The menu also includes chicken and deluxe (with meats) salads, pepperoni rolls, bread sticks, cheese sticks, cinnamon sticks and cheesy garlic bread.
The two said their new business has received a warm response from local residents and they hope to spread word of it through their Facebook page also.
"Everybody's been pretty supportive down here," said Taibi, who has been a member of the Hooverson Heights Fire Department for 12 years.
