Police chase juvenile
STEUBENVILLE - Two people were arrested and the driver cited after police attempting to make a routine traffic stop Monday were forced to chase a juvenile suspect through the downtown area.
Ryan Tosun, 21, 985 Spencer Ave., was cited by City Police for driving under suspension, no seat belt and a loud exhaust.
A passenger in the vehicle, Quintae Stubbs, 22, Apt. 304, 707 Market St., was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for petit theft, according to reports.
A second passenger, a juvenile, fled the scene on foot, police said. He eventually was apprehended and charged with a probation violation and obstructing police business.
STEUBENVILLE - A residence in the 900 block of Sherman Avenue was struck by four bullets, City Police reported Tuesday.
Police said two bullet holes were found in the siding near the back door of the residence and two others in a screen door. In all, police said six spent shell casings were recovered at the scene.
Truck driver found
slumped at wheel
STEUBENVILLE - An 82-year-old truck driver found slumped at the wheel of his rig in the parking lot at Wal-Mart has died, City Police said Tuesday.
Witnesses said the man's semi-truck struck a trailer parked in the lot. Upon investigating, they said they found the driver unresponsive, according to reports.
Bystanders extricated him from the truck and performed CPR until emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported him to Trinity Medical Center West, where he later died.

MINGO JUNCTION - Village Council will meet in special session at 6 p.m. Wednesday to discuss street lights and garbage pickup in the community.
Councilman Mike Herrick said the meeting is open to the public.
Registration set in
DILLONVALE - The Buckeye Local School District's early childhood education and kindergarten registration has been set for the following dates:
March 12 at South Elementary.
March 13 at North Elementary.
March 14 at West Elementary.
Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. each day.
To be eligible for early childhood education, children must be age 3 and 6 months on or before Sept. 30. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be age 5 on or before Sept. 30.
Children don't have to attend; however, parents or guardians must bring a copy of the child's birth certificate, Social Security number and immunization records.
Pupils already attending early childhood education don't have to register for kindergarten.
Pupils with incomplete immunization records and /or required documentation forms will be placed on a waiting list for registration.
