WINTERSVILLE - An area bride-to-be will have an opportunity to win a dream honeymoon while enjoying a free champagne luncheon and viewing a variety of wedding and vacation fashions at the herald-Star's third-annual Sparkling Moments Bridal Show from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 27 at St. Florian Hall.

All brides to be will receive free admission to the event, a bag of goodies supplied by its many vendors and a chance to win a variety of door prizes and a grand prize of the choice of a trip to Italy or Cocoa Beach, Fla.

The trips are courtesy of Todd Piergallini, owner of Piergallini Catering, which will provide the luncheon and has teamed with the Herald-Star, The Weirton Daily Times, Sorelle Bridal Salon, Phil-Mor Tuxedo Outlet, Anna- Kay's Unique Fashions and A Cut Above Disc Jockey Entertainment for Life's Celebrations.

At 2 p.m., the latter four will present a fashion show featuring assorted gowns and other wedding apparel, elegant tuxedos and a variety of destination wear.

Admission is $10 for other guests, which includes the lunch. Reservations are strongly recommended and may be made online at For information, call the Herald-Star at (740) 283-4711.

Last year's event was attended by more than 400.

"Our bridal show has quickly become a premiere bridal show for the Ohio Valley," said Cindy Kotsch, special events and marketing coordinator for the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times.

Kotsch said one thing that sets it apart is the elegant setting, with music supplied by the Howard Family Orchestra while those attending enjoy the champagne luncheon.

Another is the assortment of goodies supplied by the event's many vendors. To date, more than 30 area businesses are slated to participate.

And a major draw, of course, is the chance to win either of two trips: Rome and the mountain villa in Italy or Cocoa Beach, Fla.

If the winner chooses the Italy trip, she and her husband will stay in Piergallini's two-story casa in Navelli, a tranquil restored medieval village in Abruzzo, Italy. Located in the Apennine mountain range, it's an hour from the beaches of the Adriatic Sea and 90 minutes from Rome, where the winner also will enjoy a two-night stay at a hotel within walking distance from the Coliseum, Pantheon, Vatican and other sites.

Accommodations for the Florida trip are two blocks from Cocoa Beach, which is on the Atlantic coast, just south of Cape Canaveral and near the Kennedy Space Center.

In addition to the major sponsors, the event will include the following vendors: Chambers and James Funeral Homes; Pampered Chef/Mary Anne Jackson; Tastefully Simple/Tami Wietfield; Joey's Catering and Chocolate Fountains; JK Photography; Off Center Productions; Eileen Marrow Photography; Dr. Patrick Macedonia/Forever Young Aesthetics; Camionetta Designs/Illuminated Creations; Bee Thin/Amy Hutchison; Wes Jones Photography; the Main Event; Envy Salon; Fairfield Inn; Jay Shepherd Weddings; Holiday Inn Weirton/Undo's; Aubrey's Bakery; Mama G's Catering; McDonnell Chiropractic; Snap Shop Photo Booth Rental; E&E Bridal; Finishing Touches/Jennifer Cesta; Howard Family Orchestra; Froehlich's Classic Corner; Best Western University Inn/Damon's; Mary Kay Cosmetics/Gloria Popp; Steubenville Chiropractic; Hairway to Heaven; Stella & Dot Jewelry; Origami Owl/Independent Designer Amy Balog; Tina's Sweet Celebrations; and Sabika Jewelry/Eleni Kallaur.
