The Weirton United Way, which kicked off its annual fundraising campaign in September with the goal of $280,000, is in the fourth quarter with victory in sight.
The agency is currently at 87 percent of its goal and is in the final push. As part of that effort, the agency will host the Big Game Eve Tailgate Party from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Weirton Knights of Columbus Gallery. Those attending the event must be 21 or older. The event will include food, beverages, music, a Chinese auction and a drawing for a 55-inch 3D television, including a Blu-ray player and $500 NFL Shop gift card. Drawing tickets are available now at $5 each. Tickets for the party are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

The Weirton United Way is a nonprofit organization serving the community since 1936. The Weirton United Way supports 15 member agencies and is the City of Weirton's principal charity. These agencies support the community in many ways including utility assistance, clothing, food, emergency assistance, and literacy programs. By supporting the United Way, donors enable member agencies to feed the hungry, care for the elderly, support youth development, relieve suffering during disasters and unite our community.
The agency's chamber membership helps the staff become knowledgeable about area businesses and achieve goals for public benefit.
