Red Knights roll over Irish

TORONTO - The Toronto boys basketball team rolled over visiting St. John Central, 65-37, Saturday.

The Red Knights' Brad Melville led all scorers with 18 points. Blaine Rawson added 12 points in support with Blaze Glenn and Joey Chadwick each chipping in with eight.

Toronto (7-8) travels to Madonna Tuesday.

Quick start propels Redskins

WINTERSVILLE - The Indian Creek boys basketball team jumped out to a 23-6 lead after on quarter and cruised to a 60-38 win over visiting Bellaire Saturday.

Alex Young led the Redskins with a 17-point performance. Blake Roar chipped in 14 points as well.

Edison drops heartbreaker

RICHMOND - The Edison boys basketball team dropped a heartbreaking 56-55 decison to Union Local Saturday.

Erik Lee led the Wildcats with 17 points. Dylan Jones joined him in double-digits with 10 points.

Edison hosts Buckeye Local Tuesday.

Franciscan men fall

STEUBENVILLE - The Franciscan University of Steubenville men's basketball team lost 68-57 to visiting D'Youville College Saturday.

Christian Duke led the Barons with 18 points. Joseph Rine played well, contributing 12 points, 11 rebounds, and six blocks.

Franciscan is at it again next Saturday at 4 p.m. when it travels to Penn State Behrend.

Lady Barons lose in OT

STEUBENVILLE - The Franciscan University of Steubenville women's basketball team fell in overtime, 62-58, to D'Youville College Saturday.

Monica Dawyot has seven points, 11 rebounds, and three steals for the Lady Barons with Helen Raines also scoring seven to go with five steals. Allyson Cooney added five points and 10 boards.

Franciscan plays next Saturday at Penn State Behrend.

Big Red Boosters to meet

STEUBENVILLE - The Steubenville Big Red Boosters will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the High School Conference Room.

Coaches Phil Cassinelli and Mark Masloski are the meeting's featured speakers.
