We should turn back to God

February 10, 2013
Weirton Daily Times

To the editor:

It was wonderful to see our president's compassion, even the shedding of tears, when those 6- and 7-year-old children and their teachers were killed.

I'm sure God cried over this senseless killing, also.

Now, our president knows exactly how God, the creator of all things, feels when millions of babies are killed before they take their first breath. I am sure his pain is unbearable. Once again, I am sure God sheds many tears over this great sin.

Just six or seven years ago, these very young children were in their mothers' wombs. If they were killed then, our president would not have shed one tear. What would you call a person like this? I do not wish to be mean, but it sounds like a hypocrite to me.

Our creator remains in charge of his creation. A country whose leaders approve of the killing of unborn lives, homosexuality and euthanasia and call good evil and evil good will soon push God past his endurance.

If this country would quit listening to those who are trying to do away with God and return to God, I am sure God would bless it. Is it possible that floods, fires, tornadoes and a nation on the brink of bankruptcy are God's punishment for a nation which has left him?

The taking away of guns is not going to stop the country's calamities, but the taking away of God will bring calamities on any country.

Romans 1:18 - "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness."

Proverbs 14:14 - "Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people."

Psalms 33:12 - "Blessed is the nation whose God is the lord."

Our nation is described by Jeremiah 7:28 - "This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the lord their God, not receievth correction. Truth is perished and is cut off from their mouth."

Acts 10:34, 35 - "Then Peter opened his mouth and said, 'Of a truth I perceive that God is no respector of persons. But in every nation he that feareth him and worketh righteousness is accepted with him.'"

Ephesians 5:6 - "Let no man deceive you with vain words, for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience."

Our president is the leader of sinful practices in this country. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because they were full of homosexuals. But our president supports them and tells us they should be allowed to marry and have the same benefits of a God-approved marriage.

Barack Obama says he is a Christian, but he must not read the Bible. He must be reading the wrong book.

For someone to say he or she is a Christian and lead this country in sinful practices is no doubt a hypocrite.

It would benefit this country to elect a God-fearing person. It not, who knows what God will do to this country.
