Charles Kraft

KRAFT, Charles G., 87, of Weirton, WV, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Weirton Medical Center.

He was born October 27, 1925 in Windham, OH.

He was the son of the late Harry G. and Alta Bailey Kraft. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Sherman and Cecil Kraft; sister, Mabel Thompson; step-son, Ronald Ball; grandson, Stephen Fullerton.

Charles was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. He was a WWII US Army veteran, life member of VFW Post No. 2716 and American Legion Post No.10. For many years, Charles was active in the military funeral honors provided to area veterans. He was Past DeGare of Hancock County, Voiture 1459-Forty & Eight, past president of Tri-State Association of Ohio, Pennsylvania, & West Virginia.

Member of Mid-Atlantic States Association., Box Car Association and Charter member of Past Chef DeGare Club. Charles retired from National Steel Corp. with 32 years of employment as a millright in the BOP.

Surviving are his wife, Yolanda Gazia Kraft; son Charles Kraft; daughter Renee Cunningham (Dennis) of New Cumberland, WV; stepsons, Robert Ball of Burgettstown, PA, Thomas and Richard Ball of Weirton, WV, Gary Ball of Newell, WV; step- daughter, Rosemarie Michael of Weirton, WV; brothers, Harry Kraft of Garretsville, OH and Monty Kraft of Glenville, GA; sisters, Linda White of Southington, OH and Nancy Goodenow of Conneaut, OH; 10 grandchildren, several great- grandchildren, two great great grand children, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV on Saturday February 16, 2013 9 a.m until time of funeral and committal services at 10 a.m. with Reverend Kevin L. Bowers presiding. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery.
