Grant-writing workshop to be

held Feb. 20 at Weirton library

WEIRTON - Reference Librarian Lois Fundis will present a grant-writing workshop, "Introduction to Finding Funders," from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at Mary H. Weir Public Library's Room C.

The workshop will review the Foundation Directory Online database, which is available at no cost at the library; how it is organized; and how it can help nonprofit groups find potential funders. It includes hands-on practice with the database.

It is free, open to the public and no reservation is required, but seating is limited.

Republicans meeting Feb. 25

WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Republican Executive Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Brooke County Library.

Plans for the coming year will be discussed.

Theater announces spring shows

BETHANY - Bethany Theatre will host two spring shows, "Noel and Gertie," Feb. 28-March 2 in Maxwell Hall, and "Spring Awakening," dates to be announced.

"Noel and Gertie," is Andrew Ferguson's senior project. The play, based on diary entries and personal letters, follows the relationship between Noel Coward and his stage partner Gertrude Lawrence. Guest artist Kim Allison will star as Gertrude.

"Spring Awakening" is a group senior project for Alex Tamsula, Shawn Holmes, James Lanzy and Rich Oliver. It will explore a war of morals between children and their parents. Casting isn't complete, but Bethany professors Harold Menz, Jay Libby and Jason Smith will make their stage debuts.

Zumbathon benefits cancer patient

WINTERSVILLE - A Zumbathon will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. March 3 at St. Florian Hall located at 286 Luray Drive to benefit Megan Delleles Green, a breast cancer patient.

The cost is $15 in advance, with tickets available at Sunset Volkswagen Jeep Inc. in Steubenville, Ohio, and Studio Zumba in Wintersville, and $20 at the door. For information, email zumbaintheville@comcast.net or call (740) 632-1773.

Moose Lodge holding nut roll sale

WEIRTON - The Weirton Moose Lodge 688 and Auxiliary Chapter 746 will hold a nut roll sale, and the order deadline is March 20.

Nut rolls are $10, and may be picked up March 29 at the lodge located at 6963-67 Main St. To order a nut roll, call (304) 723-0557 or (304) 748-4707 after 3 p.m.

Church to host grief support group

WELLSBURG - Wellsburg Christian Church at 1001 Charles St. has begun a new series of GriefShare sessions.

GriefShare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics.
