Shot fired: Police were called around 10:49 p.m. Monday about a shot fired in the 1500 block of Euclid Avenue. The area was checked and no evidence was found of a shot being fired.

Shots fired: Officers were called around 2:16 a.m. today of shots fired in the area of McDowell Avenue and Foster Place. Police checked the area and found no evidence.

Arrested: Jason B. Wicker, 31, 2407 Sunset Blvd., failure to appear warrant out of municipal court, Monday.

Arrested: Christopher R. Penman, 23, 347 Terri Ave., drug trafficking, Monday.

Jefferson County sheriff

Break-in: House owner in the 1000 block of Bantam Ridge Road, Wintersville, saw the basement door to house open around 6:40 p.m. Monday and caught a man coming out of the basement. The house owner and intruder struggled but the intruder was able to break free and run away.
