Demjan reappointed to aging council

COLUMBUS - William R. Demjan of Steubenville has been reappointed by Gov. John Kasich to a second term on the Ohio Advisory Council for Aging.

The council reviews plans, budgets and issues that impact older Ohioans, and advocates specific administrative and legislative actions.

Demjan has served as one of the council's 12 appointed members since 2010. His current term will end in November 2015.

Buckeye will operate on adjusted schedule

RAYLAND - Buckeye Local High School will be operating on an adjusted time schedule Monday through March 15 due to OGT testing.

All buses will operate on their regular time schedule. Students who cannot find alternative transportation will ride their bus at the regular time and report to the commons area for supervision, according to administrators.

Students who drive or ride with others will not have to report to school until 9:30 a.m.

All sophomores and students who are required to take the OGT testing will report to school at the regular time.

Area 16 Workforce meetings set

CADIZ - The Area 16 Workforce Investment Board quarterly meeting will be held at 10 a.m. March 15 in the Harrison Community Hospital on East Market Street.

The Area 16 Council of Government quarterly meeting will be held at 1 p.m. March 21 at the Harrison County Department of Job and Family Services office in Cadiz.

Harrison Hills Food Bank date changed

CADIZ - The date of this month's Harrison Hills Mid-Ohio Food Bank, held in the Westgate building, has been changed to March 13 due to scheduling conflicts.

The time will remain the same - 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Edison to present 'Dear Edwina, Jr.'

RICHMOND - The Edison Junior High Vocal Music Department, under the direction of Dani Carroll, will present "Dear Edwina, Jr." at 7:30 p.m. on March 15 in the Edison High School auditorium.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Ticket sales begin on Monday. Adult tickets are $5; student tickets are $3.

Removal of cemetery blankets requested

RAYLAND -The Warren Township Trustees ask for the removal of all grave blankets at the Warrenton, Upland Heights and Hopewell cemeteries by March 15.
