WEIRTON - The Literary Department of the Weirton Woman's Club, a General Federation of Women's Clubs of West Virginia member club, met Feb. 18 for dinner and meeting, with Chair Diana Durst welcoming members and guests.
Carol Village gave the inspiration, and Minnie Pazich gave the literary light, reviewing "A Love Divine" by Alexandra Ripley and "Beach Trees" by Karen White.
Membership Chair Helen Gibson introduced new member Susan Spencer Smith.

Molly Mossor reported on the annual basket drawing held at the Mary H. Weir Public Library. Another drawing will be held in October, November and December.
Book Review Luncheon Chair Sandra Robbins announced the Book Review Luncheon will be held April 20 at the Williams Country Club on Marland Heights. A drawing for a Kindle Fire HD will be held.
Durst requested a mini book sale be held within the departments and general club meetings to replenish the children's section at the Mary H. Weir Public Library.
Members discussed the West Virginia Library Commission's program West Virginia Reads 150, in which residents are challenged to read 150 in 2013, either as individuals or as teams.
The department formed two 15-member teams to participate in the program.
Mossor introduced the program, discussing iconic fashions, and four department members profiled four designers. Robbins profiled Christian Dior; Dawn Neeley, Vera Wang; Jeanne Amidon, Gianni Versace; and Shirlee Baltich, Oleg Cassini.
Program Chair Enid Williams reported science fiction author Larry Ivkovich will present the March program. Inspiration Chair June Pulice announced Rose Fair will give the March inspiration. Literary Light Chair Barbara Raynolds reported Enid Williams will give the March literary light. Mossor and Sharon Neeley will be March hostesses.
The Garden Department will hold the annual Calendar Luncheon April 13.
Mossor, Pazich, Wilma Roberts, Shirley DeLuca, Williams, Teresa McGown, Chris Barker, Village, Smith, Betty Kraina and Diane Pastoric won door prizes.
