Weirton Senior Center set to

host Easter Bunny Saturday

WEIRTON - The Greater Weirton Senior Center will hold a breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the center located on Main Street.

The cost is $5 and includes pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee, a photo with the Easter Bunny, and treats for children.

Historical Society set to meet

ELDERSVILLE, Pa. - The Jefferson Township Historical Society will hold the March meeting at 10 a.m. March 16 at the White Church located at 11 Fire Road, across from the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department hall.

Guest speaker Clay Kilgore will present "Settler Forts of Washington County." More than 45 settler forts were built in Washington County from the 1760s through the 1790s. Clay will speak about the designs and building techniques used to construct the forts and share tales of the defense of the forts. The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be available. The organization will hold a spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 11 at the White Church. Annuals, perennials and vegetables will be available. The society will hold a bake sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 25 at the Weirton Wal-Mart, and a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 21-22 at the White Church.

Any interested resident may become a society member by sending dues of $15 for individuals and $29 for families to the Jefferson Township Historical Society, P.O. Box 383, Burgettstown, PA 15021.

Country Friends to host Stone Street

COLLIERS - Country Friends will host Stone Street Station Saturday at the Memorial Hall on Old Police Lodge Road. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the dance to start at 7 p.m.
