Cooking school is fun for all

April 1, 2013
Weirton Daily Times

The Taste of Home Cooking School is fast approaching, and we hope to see everyone there.

The event will take place Tuesday at the Serbian American Cultural Center, and there is still time to get tickets if you would like to attend.

During the event, culinary specialist Michael Barna will showcase 10 recipes featuring seasonal selections of appetizers, entrees and desserts. These demonstrations are always educational and fun, whether you are an expert in the kitchen or just starting to develop some culinary skills.

The cooking school usually has a packed house, bringing in hundreds of enthusiastic area residents, and everyone seems to have a good time each year.

This year's Taste of Home Cooking School is sponsored by Weirton Medical Center, Create-A-Room and Hancock County Savings Bank, with support from M&M Hardware, Frank and Jerry Furniture and Appliances, Kroger Hollywood City Center and the Steubenville Wal-Mart.

Kelli McCoy of LEX Multimedia will serve as the mistress of ceremonies.

The cooking demonstrations won't be the only thing on the menu either, as dozens of vendors will be on hand showcasing a variety of crafts, jewelry and other products.

Don't forget the chance to win some prizes at the annual event! In addition to various drawings for cook books, food dishes and other items throughout the evening, guest also can enter a drawing for either a new Weber Genesis grill or a Hyde Park six-piece dining set, compliments of M&M Hardware.

Some tickets are still available, so we encourage you to act quickly, and then come on out Tuesday evening for the Taste of Home Cooking School.

It's sure to be a great time.
