West Liberty University hosts

campus blood drive Wednesday

WEST?LIBERTY?- West Liberty University's community and environmental health class is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on campus in Blatnik Gymnasium on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.

NRA hosting safety course

WEIRTON - A National Rifle Association Basic Pistol safety course will be held April 5-6 at the Hancock County Sportsmans Association.

The 12-hour course will include a four-hour session from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 5, and an eight-hour session, beginning at 9 a.m. April 6.

The course will include lectures and live firing handguns. A fully certified NRA firearms instructor will present the course. The nationally accredited course is approved by several states, including West Virginia and Ohio, as a requirement prior to applying for a concealed weapons carry permit.

Festival set for April 13

WEIRTON - The Weirton Area Museum and Cultural Center will host the fifth-annual Festival of nations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 13 at the Weirton Event Center located at the former Cove School site on Cove Road.

The event will include musical and dance performances, foods and displays from around the world. Admission is free. For information, visit the website at www.weirtonmuseum.com.

Club to sponsor trip

ELKINS - The Ohio Valley Promenaders Square and Round Dance Club, a nonprofit organization, will sponsor a fundraising trip to Elkins May 24-26.
