What has become an annual tradition will be revived Tuesday evening when the Taste of Home Cooking School returns to Weirton's Serbian-American Cultural Center.
Culinary specialist Michael Barna will showcase 10 recipes featuring seasonal selections of appetizers, entrees and desserts. These demonstrations are educational and fun, whether you are an expert in the kitchen or just starting to develop some culinary skills.
The cooking school is a true community event, annually attracting hundreds of residents from around the Tri-State Area.
This year's school is presented by the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times and sponsored by Weirton Medical Center, Create-A-Room and Hancock County Savings Bank, with support from M&M Hardware, Frank and Jerry Furniture and Appliances, Kroger Hollywood City Center and the Steubenville Wal-Mart. Kelli McCoy of LEX Multimedia will serve as the mistress of ceremonies.
In addition to the cooking demonstrations, dozens of vendors will be on hand, showcasing a variety of crafts, jewelry and other products. Plus, the event offers the chance to win prizes. In addition to various drawings for cookbooks, food dishes and other items throughout the evening, guests can enter a drawing for either a new Weber Genesis grill or a Hyde Park six-piece dining set, compliments of M&M Hardware.
Tickets are still available, so we encourage you to act quickly, and then come out Tuesday evening to enjoy the Taste of Home Cooking School.
