Follansbee officials recognized Lawrance “Skippy” Scurry and Sarah Scheetz for their honesty on Monday. Follansbee Police Chief John Schwertfeger said Scurry, a student at Brooke High School, bought an iPod from another teen and upon learning that it was stolen, returned it to its owner; and Scheetz found and turned in a portable radio that had been misplaced by a local firefighter. The two were presented Make a Difference medals by Mayor David Velegol Jr. On hand for the presentation were, from left, front, Schwertfeger, Scheetz, Scurry and Councilman at large Domenic Micucci; second row, 3rd Ward Councilwoman Kathy Santoro, Velegol, City manager John DeStefano, 5th Ward Councilman Tom Ludewig and 1st Ward Councilman Jim Miller; and back, 4th Ward Councilwoman Iris Ferrell, City Attorney Michael Gaudio, 2nd Ward Councilman Tom DiBattista and City Clerk David Kurcina. -- Warren Scott
