Follansbee Mayor David Velegol Jr. recognized members of the Brooke-Hancock-Ohio-Marshall Retired and Senior Volunteer Program for their service to the community at Monday’s city council meeting by delivering a proclamation declaring today National Service Recognition Day. Led by Executive Director Angela Kocher, RSVP members have given their time and talents to nonprofit organizations, operated an afterschool program for local youth, planted a community garden and shared its vegetables and fruit with local residents and beautified the city by planting flowers and painting benches.
