Weirton Daily Times

WEIRTON - The Literary Department of the Weirton Woman's Club, a General Federation of Women's Clubs of West Virginia member club, is finalizing plans for the 47th-annual Book Review Luncheon to be held at 11 a.m. April 20 at the Williams Country Club.

Committee members met in March at Williams Country Club to discuss the event. Committee members include Chair Sandra Robbins, Club President Diane Pastoric, Patty Rhoades, Carol Village, Molly Mossor, Minnie Pazich and Barbara Raynolds.

Nancy Ellen Rice O'Leary will review "Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child," by Bob Spitz. Spitz, who knew Child, looks at the life and search for identity that helped shape the larger-than-life television chef.

In addition to the luncheon and review, the event includes a book sale, book door prizes and a drawing for a Kindle Fire HD tablet. Drawing tickets may also be purchased for $2 each at the Mary H. Weir Public Library's front desk. Proceeds benefit the library.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased from any committee member or Robbins at (304) 723-4668 or Department Chair Diana Durst at (304) 723-4469.

The event is open to the public. The luncheon provides funds for the library to purchase books.
