WEIRTON - Family Connections' preparations are underway for the sixth annual fundraising event, "There's No Place Like Home," at 6 p.m. April 27 at the Serbian American Cultural Center.
The event will include appetizers and a meal, drawings and auctions and a cash bar. Proceeds benefit Brooke Place, Family Connections' group home for adolescent girls.
Nino Karas of the Serbian American Cultural Center has been working with the organization's fund development auxiliary members on the event.

Family Connections operates as a licensed nonprofit child care agency and behavioral health center.
The agency provides residential treatment services for teenage girls at its Brooke Place facility in Colliers, and provides outpatient counseling services at its Weirton Medical Center location. It receives funding from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services, Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, self-pay and contributions.
