Group to observe International Workers Day today in Homestead
PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh General Membership Branch of the Industrial Workers of the World will celebrate International Workers Day with a May Day Eve celebration from 8 p.m. to midnight today at the Bulgarian Macedonian Cultural Center in Homestead.
The event will include a potluck dinner, cash bar and entertainment including musician Steve Pellegrino and poet Robin Clarke. IWW literature will be available, and those interested in joining may speak to union delegates. It will conclude with a march to the Homestead Strike Memorial just before midnight.
Senior center holding dance
WEIRTON - The Greater Weirton Senior Center will hold a dance Thursday with Sands of Time performing.
The doors will open at 5 p.m., and the dance will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cost is $5.
The senior center will hold an indoor and outdoor rummage Saturday. Tables are $10.
Class of '57 holding social
WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 1957 will hold their monthly social at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Three Springs Drive Eat'n Park.
All classmates, spouses and friends are welcome.
Country Friends to host dance
COLLIERS - The Country Friends will host the Sands of Time Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Lodge Road.
The doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance begins at 7 p.m. Country Friends hold covered-dish dinners and open mic nights every Monday and Friday.
