The annual Hancock County rabies clinics will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. May 25 at the Hancock county Animal Shelter, located on Gas Valley Road, New Manchester, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 15 at the Weirton City Building parking lot located on Cove Road, Weirton.
Rabies shots are $5; dog licenses are $3; kennel licenses are $10; and vicious dog licenses are $10.
The clinics are sponsored by the Hancock County Commission, Hancock County Dog Warden Department, Hancock County Assessor's Office, Hilltop Anima Hospital and the Hancock County Animal shelter.
West Virginia law requires all dogs six months and older be licensed and vaccinated against rabies.
Failure to vaccinate a dog or cat will result in a fine of $50 per animal, plus court costs. Failure to license a dog will result in a fine of $100 per animal, plus court costs.
