Bloomingdale UMC New Beginners Circle meets
The Bloomingdale United Methodist Church's New Beginners Circle met April 9 with Colleen Rouse, president, presiding.
Arjanta Mansfield gave the opening prayer.
Pat Smith led devotions.
Carolyn Mehl was hostess.
Plans were completed for the May 11 spaghetti dinner. It will be held at the church. Takeouts will be available. Donations will be accepted, and all proceeds will go to the church's building fund.
The May 14 meeting will be held at the Dove Restaurant in Bloomingdale.
Grace Lutheran begins plans for festival
The Lawn Festival Committee of Grace Lutheran Church located at 2015 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, held a planning meeting for event to be held June 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Plans are to sell food, in particular cabbage rolls and other items, as well as crafts, plants and books.
Entertainment will be provided by Stu and Pat, Michael Facciani and Power Surge.
The event is open to the public.
Skyline Boys to perform
at Cadiz Presbyterian
The Cadiz Presbyterian Church will be hosting the Skyline Boys gospel quartet on May 12 at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Performing since 1995, the group is made up of Dennis Powers of Virginia, owner, manager and soundman; Chris Little of West Virginia, baritone and piano player; Toby Siler of Ohio, lead singer; and Jerry Skaggs of West Virginia, tenor.
The group was nominated for the Horizon group of the year in 2005 and 2006. They signed with Crossroads Music label in 2008.
A love offering will be taken.
Unionport UMW discuss
Claudia Good presided at the April salad and desert luncheon meeting of the Unionport United Methodist Women where it was reported that the recent hoagie sale was a success.
Plans were discussed for the mother-daughter banquet to be held in May. A contribution was given to Urban Mission Ministries for the Feinstein Hunger Challenge Program.
Driven Quartet to sing
at Carrollton church
Driven Quartet of Indian Trail, N.C., will present a Southern gospel concert on May 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carrollton Baptist Chapel located at 365 Steubenville road, S.E., Carrollton.
The members of the group have been singing professionally for more than 20 years and created Driven Ministries in 2006.
"The name 'Driven' comes strictly from the drive these four young men have to continue what God has called them to do - seek the lost and uplift the hurting," according to a news release.
