YOUNGSTOWN - Eastern Gateway Community College has added two recruiters to its admissions staff at the college's Valley Center in Youngstown.
Mallory Yankush of North Lima is a full-time recruitment coordinator, and Katie Sechler of Boardman is a part-time recruiter/adviser.
Yankush was an undergraduate admission counselor at Chatham University in Pittsburgh where she was responsible for recruitment and guidance of students through the admissions process. Prior to joining Chatham, she served as educational leadership consultant for Delta Zeta International Sorority. She is a national chapter adviser for Delta Zeta.
She holds a bachelor of art degree in broadcasting, mass communications and public relations from Baldwin Wallace University. She minored in leadership studies.
Sechler recently completed a two-year grant-funded program at Goodwill Industries in Youngstown, where she served as program manager for Goodwill GoodGuides Youth Mentoring Program. This is a national initiative designed to help at-risk teens to finish school and transition into productive careers. She also served as assistant director of admissions at South University. She is an adjunct instructor at Argosy University.
At Youngstown State University, Sechler earned a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in American studies.
"We are excited to add these recruiters. They have great experience and enthusiasm for recruiting students to attend Eastern Gateway," said Marlana Featner, admissions director.
The Valley Center admissions team also includes Nicole Boyett, Lori Fine, Kenny Rupert and Candace Wells, all advisers/recruiters.
