Water outage planned in downtown Sunday

WEIRTON - The Weirton Area Water Board has scheduled a water outage for residents in the downtown area from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Residents and businesses within the following perimeter will be without water service during that time: From Lee Avenue to Virginia Avenue and from Orchard Street to East Street, including the alley between Main Street and the ArcelorMittal tin mill building.

Following the scheduled water outage, there will be a 24-hour boil water notice in effect for residents and businesses in the area.

Customers in the higher elevations of downtown Weirton may experience loss of water or low water pressure for short periods during the outage. Customers may experience discolored water throughout downtown. Customers should refrain from washing laundry through Monday morning.
