The cornerstone laying of the Toronto Junior and Senior High School was conducted May 19 during a 2 p.m. ceremony involving the Masonic fraternity of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio with a speech delivered by William Franke, grand master of the Toronto Lodge No. 583, F. & A.M.
Franke touched on the community's and lodge's long-standing support of Toronto schools during the ceremony including Fred Burns, superintendent of schools, and board of education members.
The brethen assembled at the Masonic Lodge opened by Kevin B. Todd Jr., past grand master of the F. & A.M. Masons in Ohio with the procession formed under the direction of worthy brother E. Rick Schau and led to the site of the building on Dennis Way.
