Weirton Elks Lodge to hold
Flag Day service Saturday
WEIRTON - The Weirton Elks Lodge 1801 will be holding Flag Day services and a Father's Day steak fry Saturday.
Flag Day services begin at 11 a.m. Saturday on the Millsop Community Center's front lawn. Members, family and friends are invited to attend. The service will be followed with coffee and cake at the lodge. In the case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the lodge, across the street from the community center.
The steak fry will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the lodge. The meal includes steak, baked potato, green beans, bread and butter and a dessert and costs $10. Call (304) 748-0565 for reservations.
Church to hold Bible school
WEIRTON - Marland Heights Community Church will hold its annual vacation Bible school for both children and adults from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 17-21 at the church located at 3900 Bright Way.
The children's theme is "Colossal Coasters - Facing Your Fears" and the adult theme will be "Eight Things Christians Should Know." It will include lessons, crafts, activities, music and snacks and conclude with a hot dog picnic June 21.
Calvary Road Baptist Church of Chesapeake, Va., will conduct the schools.
Class of 1959 to meet
WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 1959 will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. June 18 at the Three Springs Drive Eat'n Park.
All classmates are encouraged to attend.

Tennis program to begin
WEIRTON - Tennis Everyone, a six-week program, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays June 18-July 23 at Starvaggi Park.
Sandi Gajtka, Jeff Gajtka and Sue Wesie will direct. Players will learn fundamentals. The program will include growth of the middle school team, specific high school instruction, adult participation and parent/child sessions.
All ages are welcome.

Madonna to hold fundraiser
WEIRTON - Weirton Madonna High School will host a beer- and wine-tasting and live and silent auction at 8 p.m. Oct. 25 at Williams Country Club located at 1000 Williams Drive.
Doors open at 6 p.m.
Live auction items include a top gun experience, master's golf tournament packages, 2014 NFL Super Bowl XLVIII Tickets, NASCAR fan experience and 48th annual Country Music Awards and after-party package.
Tickets include hors d'oeuvres and six tasting tickets. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door.
The event benefits the Madonna Annual Fund.
McAllister named to dean's list
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Abigail McAllister of Follansbee, was named to the Youngstown State University dean's list for the spring 2013 semester.
She is majoring in fashion and interior.
To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must carry a semester grade point average of 3.4 or better and take a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit.
