Appalachian Folk Music Club

to hold beginners workshop

FRANKFORT SPRINGS, Pa. - The Original Appalachian Folk Music Club Inc. is holding a folk guitar beginners workshop at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Frankfort Springs Grange Hall located at 1476 state Route 18.

All music and instruction sheets will be provided, and guitars will be available for loan to those who want to learn, but don't have an instrument.

The cost is $10.

The event benefits the club, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving, promoting and teaching traditional American Folk music.

Heart health class scheduled

FOLLANSBEE - A free healthy heart class will be held at noon Wednesday at the Brooke Senior Center.

Anyone interested in learning about healthy heart habits is welcome to attend.

Book club set to meet

BURGETTSTOWN, Pa. - The Burgettstown Community Library Book Club will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday in the library's meeting room located at 2 Kerr St.

The book being reviewed is "The Weird Sisters" by Eleanor Brown and was chosen by Mary Jo Pendeville.

Discussion of the book by current active members will take place. Refreshments will be served.

Anyone interested in participating in the Burgettstown Library Book Club is welcome to attend.

The July selection has been chosen by Leslie Jancart. It is "For One More Day" by Mitch Albom.
