Take a 'Ride for a Reason'

June 21, 2013
Weirton Daily Times

For the fifth year in a row, area a couple hundred area firefighters, residents and guests will hop on their motorcycles and spend the afternoon riding throughout the Tri-State Area on Sunday.

It is sure to be an afternoon of fun, relaxation and camaraderie. But, most importantly, it is all for a good cause.

The fifth-annual Ride for a Reason poker run, hosted by Red Knights West Virginia Chapter VI will start and end at the Wellsburg Fire Hall Sunday. Proceeds, as always, will go toward the Red Knights' Victims of Fire Fund, which assists those who have suffered losses as a result of a fire. The event also helps to raise money for the Coats for Kids, which provides warm winter coats for local children who otherwise might not receive one.

This is always a great event, with a large turnout and amazing support from our local residents and business community.

We are sure that will hold true this year as well.

There's still time to register, and you can take part even if you don't ride a motorcycle.

Riders have come from Pittsburgh, Columbus, Charleston and Johnstown, Pa., and this fundraiser event which helps so many each year continues to grow.

We thank the Red Knights for putting this event together each year, as well as those who participate and those who contribute in some way.

Your efforts do not go unnoticed.
