will hold meeting Tuesday
WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 1953 will hold a committee meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus.
The reunion is scheduled for July 26-27. All classmates are invited to attend the committee meeting.
Class of '51 will meet
WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 1951 will meet at noon Thursday at Dee-Jay's located on Three Springs Drive.
It will be the final meeting before the reunion July 19-20. All classmates and spouse are invited to attend.
St. Joseph holding garage sale
WEIRTON - The St. Joseph the Worker Church is holding a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Madonna High School gym located on Weirton Heights.
Tri-State Acoustic holding benefit
NEW CUMBERLAND - The Tri-State Acoustic Music Group will hold a fundraiser Saturday at the Hancock County Senior Center located on Gas Valley Road.
The doors open at 4 p.m. and the concert begins at 6 p.m.
Snacks and coffee will be provided. The cost is $1; free-will donations will be taken.
The event benefits the senior center.
Holy Name holding dinner
WHEELING - The Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Church will hold a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church located at 4136 Jacob St.
The meal includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and coffee or tea. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Cheerleading Clinic to be held
WEIRTON - Kenyatta Coleman Grant and Melissa Coleman Turner will hold the "All-Star Cheerleading Clinic" from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 8-12 at the Mercy Baptist Church's Bush Center located at 3474 Pennsylvania Ave.
It is open to girls and boys aged 5-17. All registered participants will receive a T-shirt.

Junior Bears holding Softball Bash
CHESTER - The Oak Glen Junior Bears Softball Association will host its fourth annual Softball Bash July 12-14.
The event includes four divisions: Under-8 coach pitch; Under-10; Under-12 and Under-15. The format will be pool play, followed by single elimination. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the first and second place teams. Each team is guaranteed to play at least three games.
The cost is $150 per team for coach pitch and $200 for all other divisions.

Chapel Hill holding VBS
WEIRTON - Chapel Hill Wesleyan Church will hold a vacation Bible school, "Kingdom Rock - Where Kids Stand Strong for God," from 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. July 15-19 at the church located at 139 Gilson Ave.
The event will include Bible-learning activities, songs, treats, science projects and "Bible Memory Buddies." Each evening will conclude with the "Knight's Finale," a celebration to reiterate what the children learned that day.
