To the Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank a huge group of people that supported the fifth-annual Ride For A Reason on June 23. Because of their support we will be contributing over $8,000 between Red Knights WV VI Victims of Fire and WTOV's Coats For Kids. This year's event had 140 participants on 108 motorcycles riding from Wellsburg to Avella, Pa, then on to the Highlands in Triadelphia, then on to Tiltonsville, Ohio and back to Wellsburg, covering 100 miles in the process.
First and foremost, we thank all the riders and passengers that came out and showed their support by riding with us and to all our sponsors - for a list of sponsors go www.redknightswv6.com - and your unwavering support and dedication to the communities you serve, thank you! To our hosts, Bullpen Bar & Grille, Avella, Pa, Quaker Steak & Lube in the Highlands, The Indian Club in Tiltonsville, Ohio, and the Wellsburg VFD for the banquet hall and lot to start and end the event at.
Second, and probably most important, the following agencies that escorted or blocked intersections along the route to keep the bikers safe and together. Brooke County Sheriff's Department, Franklin Community VFD, West Alexander VFD, West Alexander, Pa, Valley Grove VFD, Triadelphia VFD, Ohio County Sheriff's Department, Wheeling Police and Fire Departments, Bethlehem VFD and Police, Martins Ferry Alert1 VFD and EMS, Tiltonsville VFD, Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, Follansbee Police Department, Follansbee VFD, and the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources. Without your help and support the ride would not have gone as smoothly as it did.
Last, but certainly not least, to the members of Red Knights WV Chapter VI members for your help and hospitality to the riders that day. It is because of community spirited people like you, the riders, sponsors, and supporting agencies we can provide the funds to provide these needed services for the Valley.
Again, thank you everyone involved.
Treasurer, Red Knights
