July 1, 2013
Weirton Daily Times
Adults and children at Olde St. John’s Episcopal Church held a pancake breakfast to raise money for a summer reading program to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m Aug. 13-17 at its sister church, St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Weirton. Among those taking part were, from left, front, Andy Caprarese and Dante Tulenko, and, back, Cross Tulenko, Lindsey Caprarese, holding her niece, Lucy Caprarese, Patty Caprarese, Jessica Scott, Sandee Barber and Janet Caprarese. The reading program is being held by the churches of Brooke-Hancock Episcopal Ministries for children in second through fourth grades with difficulties reading. It will have a jungle theme, with activities geared toward each age group, and local author Anna Egan Smucker will share writing tips with participants.
