WEIRTON - The Wheeling Symphony will make its return to Weirton at 7:30 p.m. Friday with a performance at the Weirton Event Center.
The annual Wheeling Symphony Live event, sponsored by the Weirton Area Community Foundation, the City of Weirton, Tri-State Medical Group and WTOV-TV, is free and open to the public.
This will be the 22nd year for the Wheeling Symphony to perform in Weirton. Songs will include a variety of patriotic music, with other jazz and big band arrangements also planned.

Under the direction of maestro Andre Raphel, this year's performance will include special guest Chris Tedesco on trumpet.
Tedesco has been considered one of the top call trumpet players in Los Angeles since 1987. His music has been heard on numerous recordings for movies, television, on CDs and live performances.
Some of his recent credits include the Christina Aguilera movie "Burlesque," the "Green Lantern" cartoon series, Disneyland's Main Street Music with Dean Mora, and iTunes download sessions for "American Idol."
Tedesco is the leader of the Angel City Horns, which have recorded songs for Christina Aguilera and the Pussy Cat Dolls.
His university training includes one year at the State University of New York at Fredonia under William Dederer and four years at the University of Miami in Florida under Gil Johnson.
Over the years, he also has performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic, the National Ballet of Canada, the Martha Graham Dance Co., and short stints with the Glenn Miller Band and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.
Area residents wishing to attend are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
