"People (at the scene) said bullets were coming through the house," McCafferty said. "The victim was struck in the back of the head."

The chief said no one else at the residence was injured.

Police also responded at 4:02 a.m. Wednesday to reports that shots had been fired at 1317 Plum St. Police arrived to find 17, 7.62 caliber spent casings from a presumed assault rifle and seven spent pistol rounds.
