From staff reports , Weirton Daily Times

WEIRTON - The 26th-annual Weirton Greek Festival is set to kick off today, with a variety of entertainment and food available for those attending.

The yearly festival, organized by the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 3528 West St., will take place at the church through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.

Church members have been spending weeks preparing for the festival, making food such as moussaka, grape leaves and spanakopita, as well as baklava, koulourakia and other desserts.

The fish plaki and moussaka will be available all three days this year because of demand from festival-goers.

Music by DJ Jim Antoniou will be available each day, as will guided tours of the church.

Additional entertainment will include the Greek Company Orchestra from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday; the Weirton Christian Center Kids Signs of Hope at 5 p.m. Friday; and the Patriotakia and Aegean Dancers of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church at 8 p.m. Friday.
